Debra's Home - The Birth of a Church

The Restoration Team staff and volunteers spent our last day before closing the office for Christmas Break putting the final touches on Debra and Earl’s home - the 40th and final completed project of 2022.

The transformation of this home has been startling, with all new siding, trim, roof, and a fresh coat of paint, Debra and Earl practically have a brand-new home!

Not only is this house important to Debra, Earl, and the past generations of their family that have lived here, but it also holds an important place in the hearts of every member of The Church Without Walls - a prominent body of faith serving Houston for the past 35 years.

Before The Church Without Walls expanded to its three campuses throughout the city, it was founded in this humble abode on Joy St. in Northeast Houston. The home was featured prominently on the history page of the church’s website before moving to a permanent campus in 1988.

Debra and Earl are proud of their home’s history and the special place it holds in the lives of so many before them. They hosted Christmas this year and invite their entire family over every other Sunday for a big dinner. Here’s to more memories down the line in a safe, stable home for a wonderful family!
