The Restoration Team's 4 Year Anniversary
Every day is worth celebrating at The Restoration Team, but this week is a big deal. It's our Four Year Anniversary! Thank you to all of our amazing homeowners, volunteers, donors, and supporters who have made these past four years of home repair possible.
In the Fall of 2017, four Houston congregations - Chapelwood UMC, St. Paul's UMC, Memorial Drive UMC, and Westbury UMC - came together to develop a long-term response plan to the catastrophic Hurricane Harvey floods. Over the coming years, our network of supporting congregations has grown to more than 20 across the city and has welcomed countless out-of-town teams to roll up their sleeves and get to work.
These past four years have been busy and fulfilling. We are proud to say that we have:
- Responded to five disasters - Hurricane Harvey, Tropical Storm Imelda, a NW Houston factory explosion, the COVID19 pandemic, and Winter Storm Uri
- Completed 330 home repair projects
- Mucked out 176 homes impacted by disasters
- Welcomed over 2,300 individual volunteers
- Hosted over 75,000 volunteer hours
If you like what you see, we invite you to get involved! To donate, volunteer, or learn more at https://www.therestorationteam.org/.
