It’s official! The Restoration Team is now a fully recognized 501(c)3 non-profit. This is exciting news that will open more doors to our restoration efforts. What a blessing it is to look back and see how far we have come in the past two years. We promise to continue to grow, learn, and to work as hard as ever!

For the past two months, we have been working with a worksite training organization called SERJobs that gives gives aspiring professionals the skills and experiences needed for employment in the construction field. These hard workers have been learning different trades while moving our repair projects forward. We are incredibly fortunate for this partnership.

We are looking for an AmeriCorps Project Lead and an AmeriCorps Supply & Logistics Coordinator to join our construction team. The AmeriCorps is a federally funded national service program that allows individuals to better serve their community. This is a ten-month term with a living allowance, health benefits, education award, and a wonderful cause. Contact Carson at ctucker@therestorationteam.org or visit our website if you know of anyone interested.

One of our larger projects going on currently is Ms. Lilly’s home. Ms. Lilly is a 78-year-old woman who’s home took in three feet of water during Harvey. We have been able to replace the roof, repair the foundation, upgrade the electric and plumbing, and replace siding. Next up on the books is to insulate, sheetrock, and give Ms. Lilly a habitable home for the first time in two years.

All gifts will go straight to putting families back in their homes. Every bit helps, we cannot do it without you!
